Activities Around the House

This article is going to show some simple things around the house that can turn a Saturday into a fun filled family activity day. With these options laying in the house or just around the house think of all the money than can be saved and still fun had. First activity is to get 2-Liter soda bottles and a small washer that will fit over the top of these bottles and some electrician tape.

This activity is going to show the kids how to make a tornado, so it’s fun and also teaching them about science and how it works. To complete the task take the one of the bottles and fill it with water and then set the washer on top of that bottle, next place the empty bottle on top of the so both bottle lids are hooked together then wrap tape around the bottle lids to prevent water from leaking, lastly have the kids hold the bottle up and spin it around and tip it over and watch the water make a tornado.

Second project Is to have the kids collect leaves in the fall from the yard and place them on a white sheet of paper and see if they can label what kind of leaf they are. They can then trace the leaves and color them in for some nice fall art. This again lets them gain some science back-ground.

Both of these activities will support fun and learning together for the kids and adults alike.
