With busy schedules and constant distractions, it can be difficult for a family to spend time with each other. The tight nuclear family is becoming a distant memory of the past. As a parent, you have the ability to make family bonding a modern reality. Carefully plan family time to accommodate all your family’s schedule. By taking charge and making a clear intention of spending more time together, you can do what a number of families could only dream of.

Daily
How can you make family time a daily habit? Create a rule for the family by sitting down together for dinner. Although it may not seem like much, making a consistent habit of having dinner together can with familial social interaction on a regular basis. You can also build open communication by discussing how each person’s day went. Even if your kids are busy with extracurricular activities on some days during dinner, you can make sure that they get into the habit of attending dinner when they are best available.

Weekly
Consider a low-key weekly game night. Find a way for your family to spend quality time together at least once a week. You can also go to the movies for a new release of a family-friendly movie.

Monthly
You can schedule a special monthly outing. Look for places to go such as the zoo, a museum or a restaurant. Find a fun activity that is suitable for your kids’ ages. You can even take a weekend or day trip to another town.

Annually
Save for an annual vacation with the family. Depending on what your budget is, you can find a place to visit locally, domestically or internationally. Travel allows your child to gain exposure of the world outside of the norm. Plus it can be a refreshing change for both you and your kids.
