Spend Time with Your Child

Another option is to allow them to watch only certain programs. Parents can achieve this by setting up parental controls.
Set an Example
Know that you are one of the most important role models for your child. So, practice what you preach. Limit your own television and computer usage around your child. If you happen to work at a computer from home while your child is there, let your child know that what you are working to make money which is used to support the family. That way, your child knows that there is a higher purpose for your computer usage.
